Japanese matcha tea chiffon cake

I used this recipe,http://blessedhomemaker.blogspot.com.au/2009/11/matcha-chiffon-cake-with-red-bean-paste.html. To decor this cake, i will adapt the way Vietnamese artists in old days made Con Tò He to make sugar flower. Wish me luck.

Matcha tea powder, which is used to make drink-Japanese tea.

All Japanese Match tea chiffon cake has RED BEAN frosting. I dont like BEAN, except Vietnamese bean sweet soup, so i will only make simple frosting.

Matcha tea frosting, base on this recipe, except i added Matcha tea, not cocoa, http://www.cdkitchen.com/recipes/recs/356/Buttercream_Frosting59669.shtml

When make icing frosting for cup cake or any cake, what i saw in the bakery i used to work is, they mixed all dry stuff first then then vanila extract which is liquid, then milk, and not exactly the quantity of milk as recipes said. If u feel the frosting is too wet and soft, stop adding milk, and add more icing sugar.

By doing that, u dont have to “repair” frosting by adding gelatine.

Vietnamese traditionnal artists made colour toys for kids, toys from sticky rice and normal rice flours in this link http://sucsongmoi.net/bot-nan-cho-be-thom-deo-va-an-toan-142-7860sss.html. I tried to make very similar stuff to make some pretty flowers that decor on the cake.

I’m boiling this one now and have no idea what it will be. That is a fun part of cooking, right.

Now I take Bruti for walk and buy something to colour Vietnamese-rice-flour-flowers, i hope.
